Colts place QB Jim Sorgi on IR

The Colts have placed back up QB Jim Sorgi on IR with a shoulder injury. Sorgi has been on the injury report for weeks now and Colts fans have felt he would land on injury reserve as soon as the Colts needed an open roster spot. And thats exactly what happened. Sorgi's roster spot has been replaced by Michael Toudouze, an offensive linemen who has been on and off the roster since he was drafted by the Colts in 2006.

This leaves the rookie out of Purdue, Curtis Painter, as the Colts lone backup QB. Painter looks like he could develop into a good QB, especially since he is learning from Payton Manning, one of the best QB's to ever throw a pig skin.

One has to wonder what happened to Sorgi. He never sees playing time with the Colts because he backs up Peyton Manning, who has never missed a start. During his six years in the NFL, Sorgi has thrown 156 passes, completing 99. He has thrown six touchdowns and one interception, for a passer rating of 89.9. I guess practice just got the best of Jim.

Colts Waive RB Mike Hart

Today at 11:30 EST the Colts waived RB Mike Hart. A lot of Colts fans thought this guy had some great potential, but unfortunately he sustained an ACL tear his rookie year that has kept him sidelined for most of his career. The Colts moved Hart up from the practice squad on Oct. 5th, but he has not touched the ball since then. Obviously the Colts are happy with Joeseph Addai and rookie Donald Brown. Chad Simpson, who has made quite a good impression when givin the ball, will remain the 3rd RB. Hart, if not claimed, will likely end up back on Indianapolis' practice squad.

Also today the Colts placed OT Dan Federkeil on IR with a concussion. I look for the Colts to fill these roster spots with CB's to fill in some much needed depth in the secondary. Former Colts Keiwan Ratliff and Adam Seward were also waived today, so I look for the Colts to give them a second look.

Colts go back "home" to face the Baltimore Ravens

On Sunday, the 9-0 Colts will travel to the city that basically forced them out... Baltimore, Maryland, to face the 5-4 Baltimore Ravens at M &T Bank Staduim. The last time these two teams faced off Indianapolis jumped out to a 24-0 lead and coasted to a 31-3 victory on Oct. 12, 2008. The Colts have won the last 6 meetings between these teams and have a 7-2 edge over the Ravens including the playoffs. After the jump I will talk about the things to keep your eye on and the things that could make or break this game.

Colts Defeat Patriots To Move To 9-0

This game was huge. The rivalry of the decade continued at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday night in front of a sold out crowd. The unbeaten Indianapolis Colts took on the 6-2 New England Patriots. The game dubbed as the War of 18,12.

This game was truly the game of the year and it lived up to all the hype. The dramatic come-from-behind win of the Indianapolis Colts who were down 31-14 in the second half of the game. The game featured 2 of the leagues best QB's, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady and 2 of the highest scoring offenses and hard nosed defenses.
